WINTER HAVEN DEMOCRATIC CLUB
The Greater Winter Haven Democratic Club will meet at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday in Room A at the Southwest Complex, 210 Cypress Gardens Blvd..
Polk County School Board member Debra Wright will be the guest speaker. Among the issues affecting public schools is the Florida Legislature's attempt to pass the "trigger bill" legislation defining at what point in school ratings parents may remove their child to a charter school.
A meet-and-greet will begin at 6:45 p.m. with the meeting starting at 7. The meeting is open to all visitors and friends. For more information, call club President Joe Bowyer at 863-268-4139.
WINTER HAVEN 9-12 PROJECT GROUP
The Winter Haven 9-12 Project will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Poolside Room in the Chain of Lakes Complex, 210 Cypress Gardens Blvd.
Guest speaker will be Cliff Paden, district representative at Christian Record Services for the Blind in Lakeland.
